Terms of service
Last updated 18 October 2026
These terms apply when an organisation ("you") uses VenueReady, provided by AppHatch, a UK company ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to them on behalf of your organisation, and confirm you're allowed to.
1. What VenueReady is, and isn't
VenueReady helps you understand and prepare for the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 ("Martyn's Law"): checking your tier, writing procedures and measures, briefing your team and keeping records. It gives general guidance, not legal or security advice. You remain responsible for your own compliance, for checking that what you write fits your premises, and for following the Home Office statutory guidance and any instructions from the Security Industry Authority (SIA). VenueReady is not endorsed by the Home Office, the SIA or ProtectUK.
2. Accounts
Keep your login details secure and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. Owners of an organisation control who has access, and you're responsible for what happens in your organisation's account.
3. Free trial, subscriptions and payment
You may get a free trial when you first sign up. After it, using VenueReady needs a paid subscription. Prices are per venue, per year, as shown on our website and before VAT. Subscriptions renew automatically each year until cancelled. If you add venues during the year, the extra cost is added to your next invoice. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page; the subscription then ends at the end of the paid year and we don't refund the remaining period, except where the law requires. We'll give at least 30 days' notice of any price change, which applies from your next renewal.
4. Using VenueReady fairly
Don't misuse the service: for example, don't try to access other organisations' information, break or overload the service, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do.
5. Your content
What you write in VenueReady (venue details, procedures, measures, briefing records) is yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the service. You can print or save your procedures, briefing records and compliance document at any time.
6. Availability and changes
We aim to keep VenueReady available and working well, but can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We keep improving it, and will keep it in line with the law and guidance as they change. We won't remove a core feature you pay for without giving you notice.
7. Ending your account
You can close your account by emailing hello@usevenueready.com. We may close it if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if you don't pay. After an account closes, you have 30 days to ask for a copy of your content; we then delete it within 90 days, apart from records we must keep by law.
8. Data protection
Our privacy notice explains how we use personal information about you and your team. For personal information you add about other people, such as staff and volunteers in briefing records and contacts in procedures, you are the controller and we are your processor. We will: only use it to provide VenueReady and on your instructions; keep it confidential and secure; only use providers listed in our privacy notice, who are bound by similar terms (we'll tell you before adding new ones); help you respond to requests from people about their information; tell you without undue delay if we become aware of a breach affecting it; delete or return it when your account ends; and give you the information you reasonably need to show compliance.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Otherwise, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the outcome of any regulatory action, attack or emergency, and our total liability in any year is limited to the amount you paid us for VenueReady in the 12 months before the claim.
10. General
We may update these terms; we'll tell account holders by email at least 30 days before a significant change takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Questions? Email hello@usevenueready.com.
